Company Profile WONDERLAND TOYS LIMITED (WTL), a public listed joint venture company, was incorporated in Bangladesh under the Companies Act under section 103(2) of 1913 and 1994 (amended), on 5th. June 1991, with it's. Registered office : Baliadi Mansion (Gr. fl.) 16, Dilkusha C/A, Dhaka-1000.Head Office : C-101, Central Road, New DOHS, Dhaka-1213. Factory : B.K. Bari, Rajendrapur, Gazipur. WTL is registered as a 100% EOU (export oriented unit) under which system all importation of principle machinery and raw materials come in duty free and further enjoys a 5-years tax holiday. WTL, with an authorised capital of Tk. 250 Million (US$ Million) and a paid up capital of Tk. 100 Million (US$ 2.40 Million) has been designed to produce 840,00 pcs of the Toy 'Space Dinosaur' and 4,800,000 pcs of 'Micro Motors' the prime movers for all battery operated toys and other electronic equipment having any moving components. WTL has in a record time of eleven months, acquired about 3.3 acres of land in District Gazipur and has commissioned a factory housing 11 (Eleven), top of the line, fully computerised injection moulding machines, 10 of them manufactured by Chen Hsong machinery company of Hongkong and one from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan, plus the ancillary equipment to facilitate mould making, power press punching, painting, assembling and a sophisticated cooling system. Apart from electricity supplied by DESA, WTL has its own 630 KVA, power generation system incorporating German PFI plant in its in-house power sub-station with a heavy duty Generator set imported from USA. WTL's moulding machinery consist of, 3 units of 4.5 oz, 3 units of 7 oz, 2 units of 11 oz, 1 unit of 16 oz, 1 unit of 35 oz, and 1 unit of 110 oz. The cost of imported machineries amount to a tune of US$ 1.738 Million. The major foreign exchange earnings in Bangladesh comes from the 2200 - odd garment factories producing for western markets. So WTL has already received & commissioned large orders of plastic hangers, spindle centering cones and other plastic garment accessories which will keep it's machines fully occupied and running on three shifts a day. WTL has already started manufacturing Car Battery cases and covers of four different models under a long term manufacturing agreement with Rahimafrooz Batteries Ltd. WTL also has a technical tie-up with Major Toys Limited of Hong Kong and Fuyaco Corporation of Taiwan to produce state of the art futuristic space adventure toys from their plant for export to their customers all over the world, to name a few their clientele include KOIZUMI COMPUTER, INC., YONEZAWA CORPORATION & MASUDAYA CORPORATION of Japan, S.R.M. Co. INC., K - MART, TOYS "R" US, K.B.CHAIN OF STORES, WALMART INC., and DIVERSIFIED SPECIALISTS INC. OF USE, J.N.H. TOYS of Australia, HEINRICH BAUER SPIELWAREN IMP of Germany, MOSA TOYS S.A. of Belgium and DAVID HALSALL PLC of England. To name a few amongst many of WTL's present clintele include Rahimafrooz batteries Ltd., Tootal Thread (Bd.) Ltd., Dhaka Beijing Dyeing & Weaving Industries Ltd., Merchantex Bangladesh Ltd., Sedi S.A., Envoy Group, Etafil Bangladesh Ltd., Polyex Intl., Jhonson Thread, Rawnak Intl., etc. etc. As part of it's future plans, WTL is already involved in executing tie-ups with foreign technical expertise to produce Metal/Plastic Buttons, Tie Tag Pin, Loop Lock and other garment accessories for the export oriented garment industry of Bangladesh. We are also in an advanced state of negotiating with a foreign collaborator to setup a large scale Textile Manufacturing unit at our location in Gazipur, for the production of flannel and other fabrics. As diversification becomes imperative with the overwhelming public support, WONDERLAND LUGGAGE has been incorporated as a 100% EOU, under technical alliance with our Malaysian - Australian partners and foundation for the main factory building is already on it's way. The machinery is expected to arrive within the next one year and production is estimated within a year.
